Because most of them DO NOT know who their fathers are. The father day is a constant reminder of their pain and raises many questions that their mothers can’t answer. Questions such as, “who am I? Do I have half siblings somewhere in Gambela, Sidam, Oromia, Amara, Kembata or Hadiaya? “Is my ENDF or former Derg soldier father still alive or dead in a war front”?

In any case, happy father’s day to Deqi Erey, the son and daughters of Yikealo and Hafash Widebat (underground civilian fighters)
