- Urgent: The killing of “Khamis,” the governor of West Darfur
- Activists on social media published a video clip of a blood-splattered corpse, which they attributed to the governor of West Darfur, General Khamis Abdullah Abkar (Kedeng).
He accuses Khamis Abkar and the army leadership of opening weapons stores in front of citizens of a certain ethnicity, and this matter caused a great sedition, which claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians.
Khamis had denied a statement to “Independent Arabia” that a certain party had armed the citizens, and said that the citizens had bought weapons with their own money for self-defense, honor and land, and he added: “Also, with the beginning of the clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, very large tribal groups gathered. From outside the borders, it attacked the city from the southern side of the neighborhoods (Al-Jabal, Al-Tadamon, Al-Thawra and Al-Zuhur) and burned all the shelters in which the displaced live after burning their villages in 2003.
“Kading” added: “In the face of this treacherous attack and selective killing, some of those affected moved and broke the police weapons stores and clashed with the militias that invaded the south of the city with its institutions, homes and people, with the help of some civil leaders and rapid support, as they targeted killing young people in their homes.”
