You qouted President Isaias Afwerki saying that on the "Independence day". Though I knew what he said as I was following the event live, I also wanted to read yours but I stopped after that sentence.

I read the title of the thread 3 times and couldn't for the life of me discern what Meles Salsawi was trying to say. It appears that, he organized his thoughts in his head using his native Tigray Tigrigna language, then made major syntax errors when translating his thoughts into the English language, ending up with nonsensical sentences all over.

I'm not saying Meles Salsawi is dumb, but his ideas would have made more sense to his readers had he expressed them using his native Tigray Tigrigna language --- the highly emotive language that gives Tigray natives the freedom to express their inferiority complex with confidence. :P

As I underlined in my message of last year, the ploy that the forces of global domination – principally the Washington clique and its allies – have employed against our liberation and independence for the past eighty years that entangled three generations of our people, is to drive a wedge between Ethiopia and Eritrea and to instigate war incessantly. That this ploy has not succeeded is an indelible truth that does not leave any space for ambiguity. In the last five years, when a “new chapter had ushered in”, Washington instigated, through its presumed “proxies”, three military offensives to roll back the positive trend. The final third offensive was deterred through coordinated defensive operations. And despite some lingering reservations, the phenomenon has been instructive in many respects giving rise to hope and optimism for enduring peace.
I think he was trying to highlight the above but muddled it.
