You are a resourceful and good contributor of ER forum. We all understand the fact that a united Ethiopia is the best for all citizens of Ethiopia. Evidently groups that demanded separation and got it are not doing well. A few examples: Slovakia, Eritrea, countries of the former Yugoslavia, South Sudan etc.

Despite all these Ethiopia is suffering and will continue to suffer because of groups who threaten with the idea of separation. In fact many of the groups use the separation card to extract and hurt those who are against it. Melese Zenawi and the TPLF used to scare people with it. Abiye loves to say Ethiopia will disintegrate without him.

So what, if Ethiopia disintegrates? Trust me the TPLF & PP and the region they represent will not survive without Ethiopia. So can we challenge by accepting their call which I believe is a bluffing for independence? why are we fearful of separating from these guys?

The creation of the united front maybe is the beginning of the end of the old ways of doing things. If they demand separation then we can do it too.
The amount of resources, wasted human lives and a never ending vicious cycle of war and famine may need a new thinking.
This is just a genuine thought that may be explored.
