The Pretoria agreement is the death letter to the PP-OLF government- it now effectively lost center of political gravity, politically irrelevant as the expired regime of TPLF, lost credibility, legitimacy, its armed forces deserting, line of command in chaos, etc.

What is incomprehensible to me is why Abiy keeps shooting himself. He could have become the greatest leader Ethiopia had had. Instead, he chose to be another huge disappointment. A friend of mine says, "he loaded a gun, inserted it in his arse, and pulled the trigger." I couldn't go that far but something similar.

እንደ ታሪክ እና ተሞክሮ ያለ አስተማሪ ፈጽሞ አይገኝም።
በመጀሪያው ጦርነት ወያኔ ተሸንፎ መቀሌን መከላካያ ከተቆጣጠረ በኋላ፤ መቀሌን በመልቀቅ መከላካያ ወደ ወገን ህዝብ (ወደ ወሎ ማለት ነው) እድያፈገፍግ አድርገናል ሲባል ብዙዎች ያለ ዐዋቂ ሳሚ ንፍጥ ይለቀልቃል አይነት ውሳኔ ነው አሉ። ደርግ የተሸነፈው ትግራይን ለቆ ከወጣ በኋላ ነው በማለት የታሪክ ምስክርነት በማጣቀስ ምክር ሰጡ - የአብይ አህመድን ስህተት ይሁን የሴራ አውቆ ጠፍነት አስገነዘቡት። ሳትውል ሳታድር ወያኔ ከአንድም ሁለት ጊዜ ወረራ አደረገች። መሞት የማይገባው 1.5 ሚልዮን ህዝብ አለቀ። ከመቀሌ የኢትዮጵያ ሀይል ባይወጣ የትግራይ ህዝብም በሚልዮን ባላለቀ፤ሃብት ባልወደመ፤ የትግራይ ህዝብ ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ያለው ጥላቻ ጣርያ ዘልቆ ባልወጣ ነበር። ከታሪክ አለመማር ድንቁርና።
--- በቅርቡ በደቡብ አፍሪካ ፕሪቶሪያ በተደረገው ውል ላይ በርካታዎች ይህ ውል ሞት ያመጣል፤ ሰላም ሳይሆን ዘላቂ ግጭት ጦርነት ይወልዳል በማለት አስገነዘቡ። ውሉ ውል እንድሆን ከተፈለገ የጦርነቱ ቀጥተኛ ሰለባ እና ጉዳይ የሚመለከታቸው ክፍሎች ( አማራ፤ አፋር ከተቻለ ኤርትራ) ሊሳተፉበት ይገባል በማለት አስገነዘቡ። ከእነኝህ አካላትም የአማራ ህዝብ ወኪል አለኝ እኔ የሌለሁበት ውል አይመለከተኝም ዕውቅና አልስጠውም በማለት ሰንድ አስገባ። አብይ አህመድ ከመጋረጃ ጀርባ የጓዳ ስብሰባ አድርጎ አስፈጽም የተባለውን ሊያስፈጽም የሎሌነት ውል ተፈራረመ። ጥቂት ወራት ሳይቆይ በአማራ ጥይት ውሉ ተቀደደ። አሁን አማራ ክልል ብልጽግና የሚባል ፈርሷ በብልጽግና ስም የተፈረመ ነገር ተሰርዟል። ይህ ምክር መጣል ውድቀት አመጣ።
--- ምን ምክር ይሻል ይሆን? የቀረ ካለ? እንደ እኔ አብይ አህመድ እና የ2 ጎሳዎችን ልዩ ጥቅም ያስከብራል ሌሎችን 2ኛ ዜጋ ያደርጋል (በተለይ አማራ መጥፋት አለበት) ተብሎ የተደነገገው ኢ-ህገ መንግስት መሻር ይገባዋል። ፓርላማ/ምክር ቤት የተባለው መታገድ ይገባዋል ባይነኝ። ይህ ከሆነ ዜጎች በህይወት የመኖር ዕድል ያገኛሉ - ወንጀለኞችም በግጭት ከመገደል በህግ ጥላ ስር በሰላም ይውላሉ።

With 99.9% level of confidence, like you said, Abiy Ahmed committed suicide by every term. As far as I read, in modern times, no Ethiopian leader got the level of support and love Abiy Ahmed enjoyed. No sane person would expect a leader to betray the mass that joyfully supported and took bullet for him[ remember Meskel Square assassination attempts; remember the Shewa Robit Father and Son patriotisms and their notes to the government before taking out 19 TPLF rag tags]. In Abiy Ahmed's heart, Ethiopia is Not First and her people are not his in his core belief. Or may be he is mentally feeble who can not make better decision out of the opportunities and challenges presented to him, especially surrounded by diehard OLF people like Lencho Leta, Dawud Ibssa, etc. These are people who already finishing their life contract from this planet.

It would be a grave mistake if one were to forget the decisive role of the Americans ( Blinken, Hammer, ....) in the Ethiopian internal politics. Dr Abiyot Ahmed Ali is being blackmailed by them in a serious and dangerous way.

But why, why! Why create a Church crisis? Why start war with his main supporters, the Amhara? Why release Sebhat Nega and company, on Christmas day, after tens of thousands of Diaspora Ethiopians answered his call to come home for Christmas? Why not finish off the TPLF when they were retreating from Mekele in 2020 before the Biden crooks took office and when Trump administration basically told him to finish them? Why go to Pretoria instead of finishing the job in Mekele? Why build a useless $15Billion palace when millions of Ethiopians are suffering? And so many whys ...

Because all of those things you listed make sense if you were an Oromuma strategist and making a computation based on your Oromuma long term goals. That is why! All of those things you listed make no sense to you because you don't really fully grasp the true intentions of Abiy & Co.

No excuse please. He tried to use the American as a means to build the Oromuma empire which he believes is the end goal. He has little understanding of how politics is played. Unlike him the Americans have what they call the national interest as a principle guide to what they are doing. Personal emotions, moral ground, being good to them bla, bla doesn’t work.
He is stupid. And he is costing Ethiopia big.
The Chinese had enough. And they invited Issias just to send a serious message to the clownish PM. It is very uncharacteristic of the Chinese but when it is too much they will dive in. Recently the Chinese president stick it to the PM of Canada in a very publicized event.
The Chinese has invested heavily in Ethiopia and they have a huge plan in Ethiopia. It is Ethiopia (not the tiny unstable Eritrea) where their interest is but this stupid PM is humiliating them by openly licking the Americans boots.

The Americans has written off Abiye a long time ago. They know the TPLF is deeply hated in Ethiopia and bringing them back to power is almost impossible.
They are searching for the alternative. We Ethiopians are to blame as we do not have an organized viable group to at least take power temporarily to stabilize the nation in transition.
The Americans prefer Dr BERHANU but he is now deeply associated with PP the public may not accept him. Eskinder Nega is in hiding.
We can’t put a transition team together without an iconic name as a leader otherwise they will start fighting each other. In a situation like this another hothead will step in become another dictator.
Very frustrating.
