However, look the reception President Issayas has received in the last 48 hours alone. I am sure no other African leader perhaps received a dignitary reception than the Eritrean leader.

But what about Saudi Arabia? MBS aka Mohamed bin salman is the defacto ruler of Saudi Arabia as we speak. His father king Salman is just a figurehead and he is suffering from Alzheimer, he does't even know his name.

To make the story short, MBS welcomed, even Djibouti president and other african presidents at the airport personally. But our issu was welcomed by a mikitil Qebele shum of Riyadh last month. Why?

When leaders have a schedule conflict with their other important duties, then it is normal to send their official to greet and bring them to their palace. Don't read too much into this kind of stuff. Abiy most of the time sends his Foreign minister to receive other countries leaders while he personally also went to the airport to receive an Eritrean Foreign minister at the first Ethio-Eritrea relation in 2018. This isn't norm in any country's protocol but that's what happens sometimes. Nothing to read into this. The point is, if the leaders' trip to another country was just a Photo-Op or a productive one. In Pres Issaya's case, it always has been a productive one. As you know, he isn't about Photo-op.
