Page 74 "at the time of Emperor Onâg Çaguêd, there came from the south some black heathens, whom they call Gâlas, cattle herdsmen, very cruel and wild people who, as soon as their women have given birth, whether to boys or girls, throw them out into the fields and there they die or are eaten by animals, some for the space of six years, others for ten, and if someone steals a child that they have thrown out so that he does not die and he is found out, they punish him severely and consider him a cursed man."
