How can Russia be forced to a cease fire and back to the tables?
Elena Gold
Historical photo. See the guy in the centre, squinting his eyes towards Putin?
• On April 23, 2004, in Yalta, Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Leonid Kuchma, exchanged letters of ratification of the Treaty on the Russian-Ukrainian State Border and the Treaty on Cooperation in the Use of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait. This treaty has yet been denounced by anyone.
• Prior to that, on May 31, 1997, the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma, signed a Treaty of Friendship in Kyiv.
• And before that, on 5 December 1994, Russia signed Budapest memorandum, agreeing to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and national borders in return for Kyiv agreeing to transfer its nuclear arsenal to Russia.
The guy with squinting eyes in that photo is Victor Medvedchuk, Putin’s agent who was supposed to become the president of Ukraine after Russian forces had arrested Zelensky in “Kyiv in 3 days” special operation, which Putin planned for years and launched in February 2022.
Medvedchuk is now in Russia, exchanged by Ukraine to 50 Azov fighters, captured by Russia.
Putin is still keeping Medvedchuk in his pocket, hoping he could be useful for some multi-move chess combination.
Putin would be ecstatic to get a cease fire and “get back to the tables”, but only to sign an agreement allowing him to keep the Ukrainian territories that Russian forces occupied in 2014–2023.
And then, when he accumulated more weaponry and trained more soldiers, and decided that Russia could go for another land grab (in a year, 2 years, 5 years), Putin would send Russian troops to attack Ukraine once again, until he gobbled it all up.
During the break, Putin will try to grab a piece of Northern Kazakhstan, and possibly Armenia, Georgia, Belarus. If Putin is allowed to keep the occupied Ukrainian territories, he may even attack Baltic countries.
Putin insists that countries that once were in the USSR, cannot have their own ideas about their future, but must be subordinate to Russia and bow to Russian-speakers.
Putin calls his foreign policy concept, “The Russian world”, and it’s not some figment of imagination, but a complete ideological doctrine.
If Putin is "rewarded", the future of Ukraine, Europe and the world will be in danger.
"Sadist. Paranoid psychopath with delusions of grandeur and megalomaniacal ideas. Pathological liar. His self-esteem is inadequate. His intelligence is low. His personality is rapidly degrading. He lives in a parallel world, removed from reality..." said Russian human rights activist and dissident Valeriya Novodvorskaya about Putin.
“Putin’s gang to Nuremberg!” says the sign in the hands of Novodvorsksya (2014).
Novodvorskaya died on 12 July 2014 in Moscow from toxic shock (suspected poisoning) – 5 days before the flight MH-17 was shot by Russia-backed fighters over Ukraine, killing 298 people on board.
Just a few days ago, Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of Russia’s Security Council and the main ideologist of Putin’s regime, said that Ivan the Terrible fell victim to Western Russophobic propaganda that tried to divert the attention of Europeans from the Inquisition.
Nikolai Patrushev, Head of Russia’s Security Council.
It’s not a joke. Patrushev really said so.
Russia is ruled not just by imbeciles, but by delusional imbeciles.
• The Inquisition was created 346 years before Ivan the Terrible was even born in 1530.
• Why Russophobic propaganda did not distract Europeans for all these 346 years, Patrushev, of course, did not say.
Well done, Patrushev. Reminded of Ivan's main screwup: the Livonian war (1558–1583).
Ivan IV “The Terrible”. Does he look a bit like Patrushev to you? Do you reckon Patrushev thinks he’s Ivan’s modern day reincarnation?
At the beginning of the war, Russians captured a lot of territory in the Baltic – and then they were defeated and kicked out of all the occupied territories. Russia suffered devastating depopulation and the Troubled Times began.
Just like what’s happening now in Ukraine. Russia needs to be kicked out, and sort out its own boiling internal problems.
Or Putin could simply order his troops to leave – if he cared for his people and for the future of Russia. But he doesn’t, so it will be what it has to be.
Why haven’t Russian oligarchs overthrown Putin yet?
Elena Gold
Here is a photo I want you to look at.
In this photo you can see media tycoon Boris Berezovsky, co-founder of NTV Igor Malashenko and politician Boris Nemtsov.
The photo was made at a meeting in Moscow in 2000 – the year when Berezovsky made Putin the president of Russia. If only he knew.
• Boris Berezovsky was found dead in Great Britain on March 23, 2013.
• Boris Nemtsov was shot dead in Moscow on February 27, 2015.
• Igor Malashenko was found dead in Spain on February 25, 2019.
That’s what Putin does to his enemies – and anyone who dares to criticize Putin (leave alone, oppose him), is branded an enemy in an instant.
That’s why music producer Iosif Prigozhin, who publicly was promoting Putin’s “special operation” and taking on “traitors of Motherland”, while in private conversations calling Putin an idiot, is now sick with fear.
Iosif Prigozhin: “Why is no one answering my calls?”
After his private chat with oligarch Farkhad Akhmedov was recorded and leaked online, where tens of millions of people listened to it and discussed it, the world knows that even die-hard Putin’s “patriots” are categorically against Russia’s disastrous Ukrainian escapade.
And this is worse than banal disloyalty. It’s high treason worth of Polonium-210.
Poor Iosif had a mini-stroke from fear. (Although it could have been a poisoning by one of “made-to-order” FSB potions, which imitate death of natural causes.)
Every day Iosif gives interviews, insisting that he is not going to try to skip the country and fly to his Switzerland’s home or London apartment. Because “best doctors are in Russia!” We believe you, comrade.
Putin loves playing with his prey. The prey needs to be well-permeated by fear – a jump out of a window is for slight disloyalties. Real traitors must wake up at nights in sweat for years… they need to fear every sound, be terrified of any stranger in sunglasses in the streets. They need to know that the end is coming – and be powerless to do anything about it.
Russian oligarchs are all sweating through the nights. Because they all had been having the same conversations, and they aren’t sure whether FSB or another intelligence agency has these chats on files – with the imminent danger of someone leaking the tapes.
Every Russian oligarch is, on one hand, enraged with Putin: either for starting this mess, or for not being able to succeed – because of idiots he appointed, or both! Yes, you can be both pissed off with Putin that he began attacking Ukraine – and that he didn’t succeed in it. (Poor Iosif is guilty on both counts.)
On the other hand, every oligarch feels the eye of a sniper through the sight, on the back of his head. They are enraged and terrified at the same time.
It didn’t help that James Olson, CIA’s former chief of counterintelligence, said he believes that the sharks are now circling for Putin in Russia, and he’ll be taken out by his own people.
James Olson, former chief of counterintelligence of CIA.
Olson said that it could be the oligarchs or generals who decide to stop the Russian army’s disastrous campaign in Ukraine, by removing the guy who started it all and refuses to give up, fully intent to take everyone with him into the abyss.
I don’t know if Putin’s people were brave enough to include this chilling prognosis into red folders with printouts for a briefing (I wouldn’t blame them if they were too petrified to do it), but even the recent Pentagon leak mentions such scenario as a possibility.
It’s a nice thought, that some Russian patriot, seeing that Putin is destroying Russia and causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, may decide to become a hero.
But in reality, for over a year, this hasn’t happened.
Putin has surrounded himself with lackeys that are too docile to conspire a coup. Unless a random FSO officer has an epiphany, there will be a gradual transformation of Russia into the digital GULAG with total isolation from the world, behind the iron curtain.
What about oligarchs? They will keep slowly dying from various causes, as the money pie is shrinking, because FSB has “legitimate interests and concerns”, and it’s FSB that rules Russia.
Russia is like a train flying at 200 miles per hour, with the driver who barricaded himself in the cabin and refuses to press the brakes.
The end of tracks is near and the driver still in denial.
And the longer generals and oligarchs delay the siege, the stronger the spring of the real revolution is compressed.
The more astounding will be the crash.
