It is an open secret PM Abiy Ahmed has shown us his inability and complete disdain for public concern repeatedly.
one parliamentarian recently questioned whether the PM is considering his position in the light of the never ending blunder and chaos under his leadership.even though ridiculed by some,it has brought to light the true nature of the PM.
Incompetence in leadership in most African countries is not only the problem of people who occupy positions in government; it is a reflection of the leadership culture. We’ve had different leaders with the same results for decades. The power distance that exists between leaders in government and citizens is also reflected in organizations . In such a structure, leaders don’t serve; they are served, because occupying leadership positions make leaders superior and unaccountable to the people they lead.

It is my opinion that these ሽማግሌዎች exert their pressure (more like plead with ) on more parliamentarians to come forward and challenge the PM by expressing their growing lack of confidence in his leadership.

Here are the major issues:

1) The ሽማግሌዎች have been operating either under duress or used this age old cultural tradition as a cover to help save Abiy Ahmed - observing over years the integrity of key figures or including religious fathers have been very much compromised (note: the activism in the Synod, etc.). The ሽማግሌ are not empowered at all.

2) Abiy Ahmed has been in the forefront to devalue the influence of every iconic tradition, including those cultural assets useful in conflict resolution. As the saying goes, respect is a two way street, his use of ሽማግሌ is only a one-way street; i.e. it should be an absolute partisan saving his arse. That should be no way. We know he is part of the problem, how about he stepped down.

I read the title of his so-called "PhD" thesis. I was totally puzzled how in the first place the title got approval - it was about resolving religious conflict in his little community. He misconstrued his community and drew a parallel analogy of conflict bet Judaism(Jews) and Islam (Arabs), in Israel. While there real issue is OLF Orommua inspired against other non-Oromo ethnic tribes.
