Why Did Ermias Legesse Leave ethio360?

This divorce was the consequence of the objective political dynamics of Ethiopia. To begin with, what is the purpose or function of journalism and communication. In the case of a non-contested event, the function of journalism is to journal the event - to merely describe who did it, what he did, why, when, how he did it and what resulted from the event. Here the journalist has nob other significant interest or objective.
In a contested event and an event that includes the journalist, communication has four functions - (1) to inform, (2) to entertain, (3) to educate, and/or (4) to motivate its audience/readers or listeners. Media such as ethio360 do all the three functions - inform, educate and motivate (mobilize).
This is where key differences arose among ethio360 members - differences on what to inform the public and why?, what issues to educate the public and why? , and who to motivate/agitate on what issues and why? The Amara members (I think Bruk Yibas Gurage) have a clear objective of becoming a voice for the Amara for the obvious reason of the injustice and genocide facing from Abiy's regime. Ermias went as far as he could on the basis of Addis Abebiean and Ethiopian politics and perspective.
The Weremuma elite in power views Ethiopianism and Addis Abebaism as Amara nationalism and state politics has literally rendered Ermias a voiceless. Let alone the individual Ermias, Ezema other Ethiopianist parties have become mute in the face massive national crisis and uprising for the simple reason that Ethiopian nationalism and Amara nationalism have become one and the same.
This new and clear political development is entirely due to the behavior of woromo elites. Abiy Ahmed led Oromo ruling class asserted that it has redefined what Ethiopianism meant, that it means woromoism there by removing the possibility of a universal common collective meaning of Ethiopianism. This is why Ermias left. In systems theory, we say actors produce unintended consequences. That is what the Woromo elite achieved - forcing Armaras and others into Amara nationalism with Ethiopian agenda which is the opposite of woromo Ethiopianism with Woromuma agenda.
Now the heavy and historical task of the Amara elite is not to repeat the Woromo mistake. They must reorganize the Ethiopian nation on the basis of inclusiveness, justice, fairness and democracy for all. If they are able to craft such a path, they are sure to win over more than 70% of the nation.
