Alula made that political statement to lure the Italians toward Tigray instead of Showa to deny Minilik a key external support. However, on the ground Alula had defeated the Italians several times including in Adwa war.
Alula offered to establish a strategic cooperations with the Italians and he told them the Tigrayans will never accept the superiority of Showa over them , it was true at that time and true today and true in the future. Alula planned to leave Ethiopia and work with the Italians just like Yohannes worked with the British to overthrow Tewodros. The British rewarded Yohanes with great weapons that were used in Degiat to defeat the Egyptians. Dynasty of Tigray has a lot of dirt and foreign support good or evil.... so dont come here saying you are Ethiopiawi when you are only Tigrewai you are thinking for Tigrai Interest no one elses.

Ethiopia today does not deserve a coastline a small nation will have the coastlines. To much evil in the ethiopia its own police stopped adwa. Othiopia needs to be humbled by Sudan, Djbouti,Eritrea, South Sudan,Kenya,Somaliland needs to learn how to get along and stop its demonic destrucrive pride...
