King Menelik is the son of an Amhara father named, Haile melekot, and an Oromo mother named, Woizero Ejigayehu Adyamo. The second person to the king was Ras Gobena Dacce, an Oromo. No wonder that Oromos came to save Mamma Ethiopia over and over again and again at all the critical historical moments of the truth.
On the side note: the king also needed money and for that he sold lots of Gurages and others in to slavery and able to accumulate some capital from the business, but for that we can forgive him as his other activities outweigh his capital accumulation entrepreneurial acumen.
If ato Horus and ato Selam happens to be in the vicinity of those raids for slavery they might have been captured and cashed with little or no more noises because in this case every little thing is a blessing plus to the bank account.
