I don't know what to say, price in Ethiopia is skyrocketing day by day. I don't think the government able to handle the situation. The difference in price is visible. 6 million biir car is available in 450,000 birr in Kenya. What kind of curse is that?

As you can see, we have no market place similar to this huge Kenyan car market. In Ethiopia, small business with say 20 cars are only seen with no specified price. But here we can see the tagged price, awesome .
Buying this car with 300, 000 birr is amazing but in our country it could cost 2-4 million birr.

What about prices in Nigeria?
This car is available at 410,000 birr and in our country it could cost millions.
it is difficult to find this car with 700,000 birr in Ethiopia.
Surprising to see Nigerians saying these price is expensive.

What about houses? Which is a basic necessity than cars.
On average in most African major cities you can buy or build a modest house at about usd 35000.00. Not in Ethiopia.
We all know the reason why. The Soviet style nationalization of land is still a policy of land in Ethiopia.
Ethiopians are too st$$upid to come up with a reform idea in their own. They give too much attention and waste their time on who owned much on who is not than focusing on how best to utilize land.
Some of the African nations flirted with socialism in the 60’s and 70’s but dropped it as soon as the realized it is full of [deleted]$$. What Ethiopia did was that further escalate socialism by bringing ethnics politics in to the mix.
What you see today in Ethiopia is a real state war that will not go away until you get rid off communism, ethnic politics and reform land policy.

It could mean Ethiopians are more rich than Kenyans. There is high demand for cars in Ethiopia. It is not lack of supply issue, obviously. Majority of Kenyans do not own home. They dont have the money so the demand is low. Ethiopia has been a free country for ever. And when Ethiopians buy it high they sell it high too so it is not a curse

Don't be naive, how is the GDP of the two countries compared? Kenya is overhead and you can also check GDP per capital, who is leading?
What about Nigeria which is the Africa's leading economy in Africa? we will see the situation in South Africa too.

We are not talking about your dry land. We are talking about Ethiopia. GDP is not always true. There are 46 million beggers in America that would have been on the streets if the government is not feeding them. And there are over 75% Americans who have no money in their bank, or are living pay check to pay check.
Ethiopians are buying high and selling high so that is no reason to insult Ethiopians. Doma ras anbeta

Ethiopians are not stupi'd, maybe you are stupi'd
If the outside world is influencing or forcing things as you said, why would you call the Ethiopian people stupi'd then? You clearly don't understand history and it's consequence. Housing is expensive in Ethiopia only in the city! Anywhere outside the cities is dirt cheap.

Brother Union,
You are one of this forum participants who makes sense and always debates on substances.
When I said Ethiopians are stupid it is rather I am angry because we couldn’t figure out how to utilize lands to our advantage. I thought you are at that level to understand it. With 7 major rivers and deep soil nutrients we are not only one of the poorest in Africa but the world. Ethiopia’s land policy is a carbon copy of soviets land policy. The price of a house in Ethiopia doesn’t match the living standards of the country. The real owner of land in Ethiopia are cadres of the day.
Take back the name calling and if you want to debate the land policy of Ethiopia I am willing to engage.
