Meles Zenawi, having failed to resurrect his Abay Tgray Republic dream that Eritreans killed and buried two decades ago, he realized that his niche lays in making Eritrea look bad so he can look good, and for as long as he lived he blamed Eritrea for all his own evil intents, including every wicked thing he did to dismantle Ethiopia. His mindless disciples are also no different from him that, either purposefully or out of ignorance, they parrot long-debunked conspiracy theories to shield their egos from the harsh reality of their current predicament.![]()

To be rational there is not an iota of sinister plan other than practicing the long standing traditional thinking that says, "there are no permanent friends but only permanent interests." If you respect your interests as well as other's interests you are already on safe ground and the Sun may start smiling.Selam/ wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 15:29Well, politics is a b!tch!
I am glad Issayas starts to talk about Meles’s sinister plans that we all know about. But the fact of the matter is that he himself never wanted to see a stable Ethiopia.
Both Issayas & Meles were terrorizing Ethiopianists before the so-called referendum. The 42 university professors were expelled at the time of the referendum & no question Issayas played a big role in the decision. Former Ethiopian soldiers were turned to beggars while Issayas was seated in Addis Ababa & many were killed by Shabiya militias long after the end of the war. Issayas was the master-mind of all the crimes committed against Unionist until 1993. Fast forward three decades, Issayas’s new recruits such as OLF & G7 marched to Addis, he decimated his long-time gorilla buddies a few months later and now he appeared to be an advocate of Ethiopia’s unity. This is the spiteful nature of politics.
Selam/ wrote: ↑20 Feb 2023, 00:12When it comes to Issayas’s position on Ethiopia, you have to break down his evolution from gorilla fighter to a Millennium Hall guest. Pre-1993 Issayas is different from post-1993 Issayas. Thank to the “Isu!” chant of merciful Ethiopians, post 2018-Issayas was another evolvement for him. Then came 2020, cycling him back to the 1993 phase.

Unlike your chameleon leaders of the past, President Isaias Afewerki has remained the same person throughout his life. It is the great awakening and enlightenment of the Ethiopian masses that led them to give an exuberant welcome to the Eritrean president during his historic visit to Ethiopia, which you desperately tried to portray as an "act of mercy." That's something Seyoum Mesfin would say when his inferiority complex gets the best of him.![]()

But expecting others to be kind and respect your interest or allowing Ethiopia to be the only variable in the course of this devolution (if you know what I mean) is a sign of absolute naïveté if not a conspiracy, or criminal gullibility.

Does he need to stay static and unchanging stone rock in the face of the dynamic and fast changing environments?
The former Ethiopian president, Dr. Nagaso Gidada, the black Lion of Wollegga represented Ethiopia on the occasion of the first great Eritrean independence celebration. Current Ethiopian PM Dr. Abiy, the Ethiopia Black Lion traveled all the way to Eritrea, Asmara, to meet the Eritrean president, the the black Lion of nakfa, for the first time in some 30 long years of frozen relationships and unnecessary hostilities and made agreement on the magical peace deal which brought mamma Eritrea from the crushing bondage of sanctions and isolation. Peace, tolerance and cooperation is the way to the wealthy, healthy and happy modern sustainable highway.![]()
