One of the most notorious human traffickers, Kidane Zekarias Habtemariam, has finally been apprehended. As the head of a camp in Libya where thousands of migrants were held and subjected to severe beatings, kidnapping, rape, and/ or unlawful deprivation of liberty.

He was living in Ethiopia under the protection of terrorist tplf until he got arrested in 2020 and managed to escape.

Kidane was arrested in Ethiopia in February 2020 after one of his victims recognised him in the street but escaped from custody a year later by walking out of the courthouse during his trial, with local police officers later arrested on suspicion of facilitating his escape in return for bribes.
