I think Atse Yohannes tried to convert Muslims of Wollo to Christianity. But to imagine mass out migration elsewhere is less plausible. The fact is, lamma was against dismantling the OPDO, and forming the pp because it's just another step towards further centralizing power, which more times than not leads to the rise of tyrannical derg like governments which in turn provokes the creation of several liberation armies based on ethnicity. 1974-1990 all over again.

Finfinne/Addis Ababa is the capital of Ethiopia and Oromia. We're not asking to deport or marginalize others, we're asking for afaan Oromo to be a working language alongside afaan Amara, among other things.

Instead of having an actual counterargument, all you have is an emotional rant. Interesting indeed, perhaps you want to admit the Oromo demands make sense, since the city is in the heart of their land, among other things.
It's funny, you want to eat the beef, chicken, dabo and other things from Oromo's and what they produce; but you despise their language, culture, and legitimate demands.
Making Afaan Oromo a language alongside Amharic, would make sense to any fair minded person, but to a bigot blinded by a deep-seated hatred and fear of the Oromo; it's ''Oromummaa boogeyman taking over.''

Oromummaa to Oromo's means: the oromo identity, their culture, their language.
To those who hate us, such as some people on here; they use it in a derogatory way, to imply that we're seeking to dominate others via our culture, language, numerical superiority, etc.
Instead of saying ''the OPDO'' or ''Abiy'' seeks to become dictators and so on; they say the Oromo masses in general are doing that; which of course is false. Also, if you noticed, they accuse OPDO of working with the OLF, the same way Meles Zenawi & TPLF accused OPDO of being ''undercover OLF.''
Simply put, if you're an Oromo who doesn't kowtow to them, and doesn't accept their views, ways, etc; then you're a ''Shene.''
They want the Oromo PM to ''dismantle federalism'' and bring back the old ''great days'' of Ethiopia, which in reality, weren't ''great'' at all.

This is a proven fact. Lemma is the person who handed over those shinny and deadly weaponry in bulk to OLF when he was a Minister at the Defense Dept. Abiy doesn't have acceptance by the majority of Oromo political parties not because of his stand to support Orommuma but because of their misunderstanding of his tactical Ethiopianism. Now the "Ethiopianist" block seems to be increasingly revoking its support for the wobbling wish -washy man to finally hasten his demise. He seems to be looking to develop a new constituency in the TPLF camp, tho..

When Atse Yohhanes persecuted Muslims in Wello and tried to baptize the Wello Amhara muslims at Boru-meda, those Muslim Wolloyes left Wello en-masse and settled in Jimma and Haraghe, specifically in Gri-QoCher area. You may go to those places and, you will find a huge number of people who claim to have their ancestors came from Wello.
