Eritrea mediates between Abiy and Amhara

Eritrean officials have been in Bahirdar and Addis Ababa to mediate between the Abiy and Amhara officials. At least 50 Amhara officials who opposed the peace agreement between the government and Tigray will be removed from their positions in the party, federal and region, and imprisoned under the corruption law. Although Eritrea is not part of the peace broker, the Eritrean government appears to be part of the peace and issues in Ethiopia.

It is sad that the majority of Amhara politicians and the Eritreans in the diaspora do not believe that the Eritrean government is a partner for peace in Ethiopia. Tigray elites strongly disagree with Eritrea's involvement in the Amhara issue. There is no mention of the Oromos and Afars in the peace and power-sharing agreements in Ethiopia.
