As a distinguished veteran politician and prominent head of a great African state he has more than enough understanding of the situation to mediate conflicts together with other honorable stakeholders. And the rivalry is not between the Ethiopian state and the Eritrean State but between the Tigryan movement (tplf) from the Ethiopian region and the Eritrean State.
