Oman: Drone attack against an Israeli tanker off the coast of Oman
An Israeli tanker was hit by a drone attack off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman, news agencies reported on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
The Associated Press quotes a defense source as saying that the attack, which took place on Tuesday evening November 15, targeted the oil tanker "Pacific Zircon", which flies the Liberian flag but is owned by the company "Eastern Pacific Shipping", based in Singapore, Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer.
For its part, the British Maritime Trade Organization, a military organization that monitors shipping, confirmed that the incident was under investigation.
On the other hand, the Sultanate of Oman's Maritime Security Center denied currently having any information about the attack, according to what was reported by the Reuters news agency.
According to the 'Marine Traffic' website, which tracks ship movements, the tanker 'Pacific Zircon' was last seen on Monday off Liwa beach on the northeast coast of the Sultanate of Oman.
