Damot are Welayta people. Queen Gudit was from Damot Kingdom which is located south of Gojjams Abay River. The people of Damot were Omites/Omotic which are relatives of Kaffa and Gamo People. South of Damot was Enarea which is the old name of Jimma the people of Enarea are Omotic and relatives of Kaffa and Damot (Debub). Next to Damot was the Gaffat people kingdom who are relatives of Gurage they lived in Western Shoa between Amhara and Gurage. North of Soddo Gurage was Werji People who lived around Addis the identity of Werji is unknown. The Damot kingdom also ruled Shewa for hundreds of years. The Damot kingdom also ruled Sebat Bet Agew, Metekel in Western Gojjam transforming the culture and adding the southern dance (dancing with hips) but originally the agew do not dance like bantus. The Shinasha of Metekel are Gojames that were assimilated by Damot kingdom so much they began speaking an Omotic language related to Welayta

Yes & no. ወላይታ ለዳሞት ይገብሩ ከነበሩት እጅግ ብዙ አገሮች (ጠ/ግዛቶች) አንዱ ብቻ ነው ። አይደለም ወላይታ የዛሬ ጉራጌ ያኔ ገንዝ እና ወጅ የዳሞት አካላ ነበሩ ። ጉራጌ ሲዘፍን በገሞጂ ያርሱት በዳሞት ይገምሱት ይል ነበር ። እሱም ማለት በገሞጂ ይታረሳል (ገሞጂ ቆላማው የርሻ አገር ነው) በዳሞት ይገመሳል (ገዢዎች በቀረጥና ሲሶ ሰብስበው ቁጭ ብለው ይበላሉ) ማለት ነው ። የዳሞት ጠ/ግዛቶችን እነማን እንደ ሆኑ ለማወቅ ተከለ ጻዲቅ መኩሪያ የግራኝ ወረራ 800 ገጽ መጽሃፍ አንብብ።

በትክክል የመጨረሻው የዳሞት ንጉስ ማቴአለሜ (ማቴ አለም) ማለት ያለ አጼ ማለት ነው ግዛቱ በአምደ ጽዮን ሲወሰድበት ከንግዲህስ ህዝቦቼ መሃል ሄጄ እሞታለሁ ብሎ ከፋ ነው የሄደው ። ቤተመንግስቱ ወይም የዳሞት ካፒታል ከተማ አሁንም አይታወቅም ።

ያንተ ስህተት የሚመነጨው የዳሞት ተራራ ወላይታው ውስጥ በመኖሩ ነው ። ዳሞት ቃሉ እራሱ ተራራ ማለት ነው ። ጉራጌ ውስጥ ሶስት ዳሞት የሚባሉ ቦታዎች አሉ ። የወጮጫ ወይም መናገሻ ተራራዎች ውስጥ እጅግ ከፍተኛው ዳሞት (ዱሙቴ) ነው የሚባለው ። እንዲያውም ብዙ ሰዎች እኔን ጭምር የዳሞት ቤተ መንግስት ይህ የመናገሻ ተራራ ነው የሚል ነው ።

በኔ ጥናትና የብዙ ግዜ ምርምር መሰረት ያለኝ ድምዳሜ ዮዲት ጉዲት (ኤሳልተኘ ትባል ነበር) የማቴ አለም አያት ነች የሚል ነው ። የዮዲት ወታደሮች ዝነኛ ቀስተጎቹ አመያ ይባላሉ ። አረብ ፋቂ በዚያ ግዜ ታሪኳ የጻፈው በኒ አል አማዊያ (የአመያ ልጅ ) ብሎ ነው የሚጠራት ። ዮዲት ጉዲት ሌሎች የሰጧት ስም ነው ። ፈላሻ ነች የሚለው ብዙ አልቀበለውም ። ምክኛቱም አመያ የሚባሉት ሕዝቦች ግራኝ ሲወር 1525 አገራቸው የዛሬ ዝቋላ የረር ከአዋሽ ወንዝ ወዲህ ወደ ምዕራብ ነው ። ተክለጻዲክ እንዴት አዋሽ እየሞላ አላሻግር እንዳላቸው በዝርዝር ይጽፋል ። ዛሬ አመያ የሚባለው ቦታ ያለው ጨቦ ጉራጌ (የዛሬ ጨቦ ኦሮሞ) ውስጥ ነው ። የጥላሁን ትውልድ ቦታ ማለት ነው።

ስለዚህ ከግቤ ባሻገር የዳሞት ድንበር የት እንደ ሆነ አይታወቅም የዛሬ ወለጋ(ወለቃ) የዳሞት አካል ነበር ይባላል።

ስለወርጂ ከዚህ ቀደም ነግሬህ ነበር ። ልድገመው ። ወርጂዎች በዘራቸው አርጎባ ናቸው ። ወርጂ ማለትና አርጎባ አንድ ቃል ነው ። አሁን በያገሩ ተዘርተዋል ። አርጎቤዎች ካሉበት አማራ እስከ አሩሲ ባሌ፣ በሸዋ በኦሮሞ ተውጠው ከሰንዳፋ እስከ ፉሪ ተፍኪ አዲስ አበባ ሁሉ አሉ። ወርጂ አርጎባ ነው ። የረር አካባቢ ከተማ ነበራቸው ይባላል።

There first time amhara is mentioned in history is from Werji ሸዋ in 1128.




The Werje lived west of awash river But they are originally from east awash river meaning Arsi

The Werje likely converted to islam due to their nomadic\pastoral lifestyle. As always farmers become Christian and nomads become muslim. The area were the amhara fled werje was more likely AmbaDar-Yarer-Sendefa triangle east of addis ababa which is known today for its teff farms that is from amhara farmers

The werji are from Arsi this makes sense why they came into conflicts with shewan Christians
