The target audience for Abiy’s national speech tomorrow is Oromo electorate, not necessarily all Ethiopians

Why?
Because all politics is local. There’s war in Oromia that’s taking heartbreaking level of civilian casualties. Abiy has a chance to prolong his reign as PM without people’s support from this or that region. The exception here is Oromia. If people go to OLA or OFC, he and his OPDO/ PP can kiss Arat Kilo goodbye. When he loses Arat Kilo, he not only loses the Office but he becomes easier to drag to national and international criminal courts.
So he will tailor his message accordingly. In the process, he may lose balance and come across as president of a region rather than the PM of a country.
He reacts foremost to what happens within his constituency. All politics is local.
