Unfortunately the peace momentum is not progressing as it was planned and there is a real chance that it might falter. The main culprit for the hiccup is that there are renegade generals that feel they could salvage the situation and creat some kind of military facts on the ground to gain better concessions. These elements are using Eritrea to justify their indifference to the peace process. At the same time, ENDF is in full military posture to take MEQELE over. Very unlikely the deligates in Nairobi will be back to Tigray!
According to reliable sources, General Megbe and Wedi Ashebre are tempting to give it another try! Hopefully the deligates in Nairobi will manage to convince the renegade generals not to scuttle the peace process.

Re: The danger of reverting back to war is real
The peace agreement was already signed in South Africa. The Nairobi meeting between the military leaders of Ethiopia and TPLF was to hammer out how within short time to implement the agreement. If the TPLF generals choose to delay the implementation of the agreement , the Ethiopian government might decide to take over Tigray by force without noticeable resistance. If still some TPLF leaders assume the US will bail them out, they are badly mistaken. I do think the war was almost over before signining the agreement . What the signining of the agreement did was legitimizing the defeat. In so doing many lives have been saved.
Re: The danger of reverting back to war is real
If one thinks TPLF went to Pretoria in good faith, think again. History is the witness.

Re: The danger of reverting back to war is real
The Oromumas are fearful, lazy and stupid.
And that is costing Ethiopia enormously.
Get the job done by destroying TPLF when you get the opportunity. Don’t late those TPLF criminals escape as a champion of peace.
What the TPLF now doing is stall, threat, peace negotiations etc buying time as much as possible until the current government weakened and the population is exhausted. Their headquarters are now moved to Addis underground.
Derg in the early 80s and Derg in the late 80s.
PP now seems powerful, just wait for a little bit. Even the situation in Eritrea which favours Ethiopia will change dramatically if Issias is gone.
Save this comment.

Isaias boys,
We know you want war but the Ethiopian government knows this war has no end and peaceful settlement is the only option. For peace to be restored Eritrea and Amharas forces have to pull out of the whole Tigray including Western and Southern Tigray..
