Mr Shimels Abdissa should involve Oromo elders to solve the problem. There is no reason why the rebels wouldn't put their arms down if they were to be given incentives ( farmlands, education, jobs ) to do so by people and tradition that they respect.

the problem is not lack of incentives, I think the twist was introduced when one of them raised from no where and declared "who is going to disarm whom", essentially declaring a two source of power in the country. That twist must be straightened for the rule of the law to prevail.

Everything else is trying to treat an illness with a wrong medicine.

Shene can be integrated into the govt there and administrate the towns that they'd obviously win elections in.
When the opdo failed there in western oromia, i.e. during tplf's oppression there, it was ''shene'' who stepped up, and we all know ''shene'' has a history of having major support there; as opposed to the opdo, whose origins we all know, no need to even elaborate on them.
If we are being objective, we'd obviously see who'd win elections there, if they were free and fair.

If it is about Obbo Shimales, then the "Amhara governor" took his duty more seriously and spared himself, so should Shimales too. No one is above the law!

You don't get it. It's less about shene, and more about letting the people there in the areas effected, pick their leaders and parties, as opposed to fake elections and imposing leaders upon them, which of course, is typical and expected from whomever rules from Addis/Finfinne- regardless of the ethnicity of the rulers, be they oromo, amara, tigrayan, or some ''hybrid.''
Integrate whatever party the people want, and voted/votes for, into the govt there, or let them administrate that area that they win elections in. Or compromise some way.

Cases are building up against Obbo Shimales and he should be prepared to defend himself, as it stands now his position is no more defensible.

It is now evident for anyone to see that Shimeles Abdissa has failed as a leader of Oromia region.Though there are areas like agriculture and schools that he did a better job, overall in some of key indicators such as security and corruption, Shemeles has failed miserably. Oromia police is busy everywhere stopping private cars and asking for money. The only region as far as I heard that this practice is widespread. In many parts of western Oromia local administration has just collapsed and OLA and anarchy has took over. Let alone to invest, people are afraid to travel to many parts of Oromia. We have been seeing tens of thousands of Oromia Liyu hail graduate yearly but they are nowhere to be found when it comes to containing a few thousand OLA bandits.

The weakest part of Shemels is that he don't even want to talk about the shortcomings of his region but rather he is daily on TV showing only his successes. That is very weak. I think it is time for Shimeles to say good bye.
