[INSIDER] Over 90 TPLF political leadership are in Djibouti. TPLF is seeking amnesty for the military leadership

Over 90 TPLF political leaders including Dr. Debretsion and their families are in Djibouti waiting to move to Canada. Blinken, PM Abiy and the AU are urging Canada to grant asylum to the TPLF political leaders and their families.
The TPLF political leaders are ready to lay down arms if the military leaders are granted amnesty. They fear they could be seen as abandoning their colleagues in the battlefield while enjoying life in Canada. This is the only issue that is being discussed in South Africa. The Ethiopian government is refusing to let the military leaders grant amnesty, specially those who were active ENDF members but the US is putting a lot of pressure to get the Ethiopian government agree to grant amnesty and end the war through "negotiations".
The Ethiopian prime minister wants the war to end in military defeat for Tigray and not through negotiation fearing Tigreans will yet again believe they lay down arms because "the US told them so" just like last time. He wants tigreans to know that they lay down arms not because America told them so but rather because they were decisively defeated so they don't think starting a war again.
