The aid- vultures forever leaving Ethiopia will not be long, seeing this.

The most sustainable way of addressing impact of drought & inflation is producing what we eat. Somali Reg. Agricultural Transformation plan which has 4 pillars (lowland water mang’t, increasing production & productivity, livestock sector modernization, & marketing) is promising.

Zmeselo,

did you hear Mr. Mustafe saying something like "we have so far developped just 10% of what is possible (could be developed)"?

This is astonishing in my view. From this 10% they are going to export 2 Million kuental in this new Ethiopian fiscal year.

Could you imagine what they could export if they manage just to develop 50% of what is an arable land in the region, a region considered drought ridden and considered to rely on relief aid for ever?

Zmeselo,

do you think they will indeed leave? If they do, do you think they can declare "mission accomplished" (we have hit the target)?

In that case it could be assumed that they were there to feed us. This needs a deeper understanding of the whole setup. I am not ready to sign off that claim!

Now that Ethiopia has checkmated them & is earning raw $$$ by exporting her products, believe me, they'll leave quick.

Brother Zmeselo,

I think you are one of those few on this forum who can challenge the perceptions.

This is only one of the tools at their disposal in the toolbox. If this one fails, then they will resort to another tool, take out from the toolbox and employ it.

The practice is well-known and they do know how to employ it on case by case fashion.

They will not comeback with the same old used and failed means, unless everything else is exhausted. And I don't simply think that everything is already exhausted yet.

At the end of the day they have a mission, success is measured in how good the mission was reached, in not which tool was used to achieve that.
