President Isaias Afwerki received, at the Denden Guest House this afternoon, India's State Minister for External Affairs, Mr. Velamveli Muraledharan. President Isaias underlined in the meeting, that India is indeed a genuine partner of Eritrea.

Mr. Muraledharan stated for his part, that the meeting will add impetus to the long-standing ties of friendship & cooperation between the two countries. Both sides agreed that priority areas of mutual cooperation will include sectors of education, health, energy & agriculture.

Indian Community in Eritrea was pleased to welcome @MOS_MEA today, in Asmara. In his address, he underlined the age-old relations of India and Eritrea and lauded the contributions of Indian diaspora in Eritrea. He also highlighted, the phenomenal transformations happening in India.

Had a productive meeting with FM of Eritrea, H.E. Mr Osman Saleh & took stock of entire gamut of bilateral relations.

Fondly recalled his visit to India, in April 2021.

Explored new areas of cooperation including energy, health, education, capacity building & agriculture.

Visited Asmara War Cemetery and paid respects to the Indian soldiers, who laid their lives during World War II in Eritrea.
