Though he expected quick victory and advance to Tigray similar to the November 2020 surprise attack, it looks Abiy's army could not stand with TDF and tens of thousands of soliders have been killed and thousands of prisoners of war have been captured by TDF. As of today the cheapest commodity in Ethiopia is prisoners of war from Abiy's army. With the expected riot from the Ethiopian people against Abiy and his PP government for destroying the unity of Ethiopia, compromising it's sovereignity and destroying the economy , Abiy's spin doctors will not be able to save Abiy to stay in power. Recognizing to that fact Abiy may beg the USA to save him and he may be ready to meet TPLF demands, secure temporary truce and peace negotiation. He may also be willing to compromise the sovereignity of Ethiopia to Egypt with regard to the Water issue to keep his power. Let us see how Abiy will maneuver to stay in power after causing hundreds of people to die and at the cost of the sovereignity of Ethiopia.
