What a golden opportunity is before PM Abiy to make history. He could totally defeat the TPLF thugs within the next two weeks and get rid for the people of Ethiopia of these irredeemable thugs. The Ethiopian force should open an offensive from inside Eritrea, rapidly take the northern part of Tigray, i.e., AdiGrat to Adwa, Aksum and Shire. Another force could move from south west and west and kick all agames out beyond the Tekezze River. Another force could move northwards from Kobo and take Alemata and Maichew. The Afars and ENDF move another force and drive the thugs towards Mekele. Once boxed inside a tiny area, then give them a couple of days to surrender, Finish them otherwise. This I believe is what about to happen.

With all due respect I disagree.
Let the selfie-loving PM run his own show. Eritrea should only respond when attacked or when its security is at risk. Time has changed. I believe Weyane is not a big threat to Eritrea anymore the way it used to be. Eritrea is well capable of defending its territory and security when the need arises.
For arguments sake, let's say the plans you proposed are put in action and the Eritrean army once again gets involved in the operation. What guarantee does Eritrea have that Abiy doesn't flip flop but works in coordination with Eritrea till the job is accomplished? What if he takes a unilaterial decision again due to external pressure or his indecisive nature? Have we not learned from the recent past? For me the best course of action would be for Eritrea to stay at high alert while Abiy finishes Weyane off. After all, the current situation is not going to be sustainable for Weyane. TPLF will be back to square one (ዕጽዋን ክባን) and eventually will die a painful death. Let's not forget Weyane started this war out of desperation.

The Ethiopian government should stop playing defense and start attacking Tigray from all directions. While tplf heads south the rodents in mekele will be exposed. No need to wait for tplf to reach Debrebirhan. Cut them off from their supply route. Ethiopian army has the numbers, airforce and more armaments than terrorist tplf. Then no need to stay in Tigray just go in take care of the tplf fat rats and move out.

Where did I say Eritrea should be involved? An offensive by Ethiopian soldiers from the North can only originate from inside Eritrea. Already, the agames are hinting that Erthiopia is moving its military into Eritrea for such an operation. Don't forget that Tigray is part and parcel of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian government can enter it from whatever direction it chooses. This crappy situation needs to end and end soon. The TPLF is a threat not because of its prowess but because of its stupidity. And the stupid need to be dealt with swiftly because they have a habit of doing stupid things! it is a mistake to keep the cancer festering.

Having said that, I see no reason why Mendelay should not join in in the final annihilation of the TPLF thugs!

It's your expectation that I have an issue with. If you seriously expect Abiy to finish Weyane off with whatever support he receives from Eritrea or Fano/Afar then you are up for a disappointment. Now even many Ethiopians have come to realise that Abiy wants to keep Weyane in order to subdue Amhara/Fano forces. If you think otherwise then how do you explain his admission regarding the fact that he was knowingly letting aircrafts land in Shire regularly carrying weapons to replenish Weyane's stock? A leader determined to wipe out Weyane would never do that.

The Eritrean army had done the right thing at the right time by severely crippling Weyane even at the height of bogus accusations being directed at Eritrea from the Ethiopian Human Right org and the lack of conviction from Abiy. This time, however, I firmly believe that Eritrea should leave the indecisive PM sort out himself but be ready for any eventuality.
