Will Abiy Save Yet One More Time the TPLF Thugs?

The TPLF thugs are on the brink of annihilation. The number of Tigrayans who are calling them out is increasing daily even within Tigray. Facebook blogger like Fitsum Berhane, Tsegay Gebremedhin are openly calling for their ouster from Mekele. Tomorrow, the 4th of August marks 21 months since the thugs started the war. If the situation continues as it is now, I am certain that the TPLF terrorists will be history by Nov 4, 2022. So all Abiy needs to do is keep the quarantine in place, allow food aid and medicine, but nothing else, and the people of Tigray will do the job of eliminating the TPLF thugs. They would also understand that they have no future without succumbing to the rule of law. Thus, it would a disastrous decision if Abiy eases the pressure on the thugs now. The only way there will be sustainable peace in Ethiopia is if the TPLF is totally, absolutely and unequivocally defeated with no loop-holes for lies.
But I am not hopeful. Abiy has a habit of snatching defeat out of victory. If he buckles now and saves the TPLF, that will be his end and I think the end of Ethiopia. Nations fail when irresolute leaders are unable to master the challenges facing them.

I believe our Ethiopian brothers and sisters must redefine the state of the less than 150-year-old Ethiopia, as we know it. The definition I am talking about is an act of believing in the resources they have. Nobody can deny that Ethiopia is endowed with plenty of material and human resources. They need to believe in their own bounty and get out of the nasty habit of begging for unsustainable handouts from the "richer" countries. However, if they choose to continue on that rotten path they have had for the last 140 years, then I am afraid we may see Ethiopia in a political and economic quagmire that may be difficult, if not impossible, to get out of.
