So, according to TPLF Haile Gebreselassie does not have 1) the right to self-defense 2) the right to raise arm his country of citizenship is at war. Military service is tradition and is legally required for everyone and citizens are supposed to help the country in case of war. That is what Haile Gebreselassie did. He wil go down in history as a legenday hero.
Was Yitagesu Eshete a hero or participated in Tigray genocide for he killed about 20 rag tag TPLF? The differnce between the two is Eshete was a self-sufficent hardworking rich farmer + merchant and Haile being successful business man and athlete. Their similarity, both of them patriots.

Just an additional note,
Haile Gebreselassie was one of the victims of identity politics. The OLF thugs destroyed and burnt down the business he built in Shashemene that created employment opportunities simply because they labled him an Amhara - a label which is against his own self-identification of simply as an Ethiopian.
