Come on Horus,
The problem is not (only) lack of peace, there are many places around the country that have dramatically changed (developed) their life standards in many different ways. Private farmers are enabled to earn millions, unseen before for the most part. Some small villages become hub of economic development centers and many more can be said.
The problem with those who keep complaining is that they spend their precious time in something they are not good in, instead of making an impact with something they can. Case in point many people engage themselves in just politics (24/7, around the year) while they have next to zero idea about what politics is. We have been clapping our hands for Jawar Mohammed and co. for many years and contributing money for their engagements readily from what we have, when it comes to contributing towards digging water wells for the local community, as an example, then we are already nowhere to be seen.
The same can be said when it comes to building schools, kindergartens, health clinics, roads, bridges that this video highlights etc. These are all what Ethiopia needs badly (not (only) our 24/7 political activism ). That is what I mean do something where you can also make a real impact.
You personally have been opposing any development initiatives that the people need. I don't think it is due to lack of peace that this community in the video lacked a small and decent bridge to connect themselves to other communities and vital economic infrastructures. Isn't it?
Even Prof. Berhanu Nega previously considered the lion of the diaspora visited the same diaspora recently and was publicly disrespected and denied any sort of support that he was seeking to build the country's future, which is knowledge. Isn't this the case?
Was that due to lack of peace?
At the same time while Prof. Berhanu was visiting the diaspora Jawar Mohammed was also touring European cities and raising funds in hundreds of thousand, if not millions. Many were ready to contribute, but not to build the country. This is the bitter truth, take it.
It has been so and it is still so and it could remain so for a while before the manga politics may get some sort of decency.
With the same "lack of peace" those who are working towards change are making a visible impact on the ground. Can we deny that? I don't think so.
Please wait, video is loading...
Just today I saw somewhere a picture showing agricultural plantation of fruits in the south (I think Wolaita Sodo), where it seemed to me just a paradise on earth, the PM and former PM were visiting it, but I can't find it again to post it here.
With or without our mass political activism change is coming, which is the good news here. You can contribute if you would like to have a share in the making of Ethiopia's future. No one is waiting for your (plural) contribution to make a change
Laterly, even Jawar is waking up, it seems, after so many missed opportunities und wasting of lot of resources and human lives.
