Not that Eritrea needs Ethiopia to use its ports, but if Ethiopia really wants to use it paying its due fees, we have no problem. Again, Eritrea doesn’t depend on Ethiopia’s, the Sudan or any other neighboring country income.
Our ports are more than enough for us to satisfy our needs with out additional income from any country and Ethiopia is not construction it’s share of the road because it wants to neglect its population and wants to help us. Its benefit outweighs than it does to Eritrea.
If there is peace, all positive progress is possible. So, we will see what is it all about while watching like eagles, as we always do.
We don’t have too many mouths to feed.
But if this is to happen, I encourage our govt to not let the highways pass through the chigaram, hasadat, ungrateful qomalat aganes territories.
And yes if any other foreign country is to use any thing Eritrean the biggest share of the income needs to favor Eritrea and its people. And if we have to use any amenity which belongs to other neighboring country, the biggest share of the income needs to favor the providing country.
We are not like the hasadat agames who always want to eat the biggest share of a pie which doesn’t even belong to them, which became the main reason of their demise.

i am sad to report The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea

The freaking problem is that tigray is not a sovereign nation. Ethiopia if it wishes it can use it but according to Eritrea’s demands which is the highways can not be constructed through tigray.
If tigray needs donated wheat to come through Assab or Massawa, it got to go to Ethio Afar region or all the way to Gondar and trucked to your beggar tigray.
No international law will weigh above our own laws considering what is ours.
