Oromia is the heart of Ethiopia, but tigray does have rich history. However, Oromia is the backbone of the country, along with Amhara state, without Oromia there is no Ethiopia; but if tigray goes tomorrow, which it won't; Ethiopia can still exist.

Tigray is the soul and the spirit of Ethiopia , no Tigray no Ethiopia and it has to be given the due recognition and respect by all Ethiopians including Christians and Muslims.

How are Tigrayans of Adwa different that Tigrayans of Adi Kwala? Why are you hating on Tigrigna speakers north of Mereb while you want to unite Amhara and Tigrayans of South of Mereb? What's is the logic? Obviously, both the state of Eritrea and the state of Ethiopia hurt Tigray in the past 2 years, if being bad to Tigray is the basis for your analysis.

Btw, I hope you already know that Eritrean members of Mereja on this website do not represent the millions of Eritreans who have no voice at all.

You can check with my postings data base and you will find the following:

5. I campaign for Tigray/ Ethiopia to gain access to the Red Sea via #Bring Back Our Access to Red Sea!
6. Forgiveness, reconcilation and peace is the way forward for Ethiopia, Eritrea and the Horn of Africa.

Axumezana, sorry bro, tigray isn't as important as oromia, and tigray will never have its elites do what it did under tplf. tigrayan hegemony has been crushed, never to return. however, I am all for tigrayans having power that is in accordance to their contributions, which is like 8-10 percent of the population.

As a clarification, I do not support any type of hegemony from any side be it Tigray, Amhara or Oromia etc. Each state has to be given 100% autonomy to run it's internal affairs and the confederation/Federation has to be run in an equitable , participative and rotational assignment of power. Population size should not only be considered for equitable participation but the contribution of the Tigray people to the historical establishment, sustenance and future of Ethiopia. Hence, the Tigray people deserves veto right in the new Confederate/ Federal government or as an option based on consensus based decision-making or equal number of voting rights . Do you know why France(with a population of 67m, Great Britain ( with a population of 67 m) both having less than 1 percent of the world population have a veto power over 8 billion people of the world?

First off, you have to stop comparing imperialistic powers who extort the poorer countries, to states within Ethiopia, which is a poor, underdeveloped country itself; unfortunately. Things aren't the same for us and them, tragically enough.
Since Tigrayans are 8 to 10 percent, at the most, that will be their share at the federal level, sorry, it is what it is, and that's fair.
I am glad to see u oppose any hegemony, including tigrayan, but I am not sure you were saying that when the tplf was in power and abusing their power.
like many tigrayans, I am sure that you were quiet back then, approving of it, since tigrayans benefited.
but since things are currently bad for tigray and tigrayans, which is sad indeed, then you want equality and justice, but when tplf was doing that to oromos and others; I am sure that, you were quiet. this is partially why tigray is in its current predicament; their leaders made enemies for themselves and for their people from among all their neighbors.

At any event you need a leader, and that leader could come from any corner of the country. I do not have any regret for TPLF leading Ethiopia's Reinssance over the 27 years period and I do not have any problem either Amhara or Oromia lead Ethiopia for the years to come.

The problem I had with TPLF were:

-Their handling of the Eritrea issue from begining to end was wrong ( access to the Red Sea, handling the post- Eritrea independence relationship, handling the war and post war strategy )

- I am in support of land privatization and liberal ideology

- TPLF/EPRDF failed to democratize Ethiopia - If democracy was to be practiced steadily and in an incremental manner the issue of hegemony, politically motivated arrests and killings could had been avoided or minimized
- TPLF/EPRDF did not do enough to control corruption
- Weakness in the enforcement of the constitution specially individual rights and rights as an Ethiopian.

However, I believe TPLF/ EPRDF had achived a lot in different sectors and their positive contribution was larger than their negative ones . With the above differences, I used to be a critic and supporter of TPLF/ EPRDF and paid the price associated to my independent opinions.
Unfortunately, over the last 4 years the negative contributions of Abiy's government by far outweighs any positive contribution.

Last but not least I do not agree with the concept of taking one indicator to decide political participation right. We need to have a balanced score card that includes population size, historical and future contribution, impact, mobilization competency, strategic importance etc.

As a clarification the following three options are included in my previous posting:

Option 1: Having veto power ( UN model)
Option 2: Consensus based decision making ( EU model)
Option 3 : Equal votes ( EPRDF model)

I believe one of the above options could be acceptable.
