Gurages are southerners geographically close to shewa and they have more number in Addis so others thought kitfo was gurages cultural food. But the gurages learned it from other southern Ethiopians

I think Gurages are Habesha Abysinnians that migrated southwards to the province of Aymallal. They intermixed and adapted to the Southern Lifestyle. The closest to Gurage people are Shewan Tulamas Shewan Gafats and Shewan Amharas Siltis, Hadiyas and probably Jimmans
