“Dear Congressman Brad Sherman,

As someone who has travelled to Ethiopia and follows issues on the continent of Africa, I am
writing to invite you to attend a reception for Ethiopian Finance Minister Ahmed Shide who will
be in town alongside Ambassador Fitsum Arega on April 26th. The event will be held from 6:00
– 8:00 PM at the Capitol Hill Club. Members of the Ethiopian Caucus will be serving as
honorary cohosts, and we ask if you would consider being an honorary cohost as well.

If you would like to have a few minutes with the Ambassador and Foreign Minister, we would be
happy to arrange that. There are many issues facing Ethiopia and other African nations; we are
not asking your office to endorse any legislation, but rather to come build a relationship and
learn more about these complex topics. Thank you.

This message is being delivered on behalf of the Government of Ethiopia. Squire Patton Boggs
(US) LLP is a registered agent of the Government of Ethiopia under FARA.

Sincerely,
Congressman Jack Kingston”
