I mean TPLF is 1991 did what a force that is set out accomplish something does - do the hard work, take the painstaking effort and engage in the tireless and tedious act. Winning, especially in war, is a laborious and testing chore. In order to be state power, you’ve to patiently take and control areas to your right, left, front and back. You can’t just take a highway ride to Addis while your wings are still under government power. Imagine Canada driving and fighting only on I-5 highway without any dominion on the lands to the right and left. Like going to fight Qerra gang and leaving Megenagna passing enemy enemy territory.

Also remember how Putin’s force failed to control the Kiev airport and how tried to drive the highway and how they were decimated by Ukrainians. So you can’t drive on highway to power.

To his credit, Tsadkan General Raya Beer subtly said their run to Addis on a highway was intended to coincide with diplomatic action - meaning US military intervention. There was no military strategy in the world that says you can win by driving on a highway while surrounded by enemy to right and left. Imagine TPLF coming to Addis while Afar to the right and Gojjam and Gonder to the left are under Amhara/Abiy. That is ridiculous and I agree with General Raya Beer that it was a suicide mission only intended to await international action.

There was no military strategy that would have brought TPLF to power. The strategy was called “gaslighting”. It is like to take maximum actio like firing a thoughsand fireworks in the night so that it appears the sun is out. This is gaslighting strategy to make your enemy question reality. That way the enemy gets disoriented and dismantle. But this is not a winning military strategy but a psychological operation of gambling (psy-ops) to confuse and disband enemies. You just try it once and if the confusion dined not occurs you lose all and get back to negative loss.

Raya Beer is now massaging Tegaru ego. I would have done it too as there is nothing else left. Imagine America telling TPLF and TPLF listening because it is a democratic, civic and puritan group. For one it shows how even the “Tegaru intellectuals” are losing hope on TPLF mental dinosaurs to the level they’ve began recording and leaking info. Now imagine how much Abiy is able to absorb intelligence which puts him at an advantage.

Also see how “frank” Gech pretends to be saying that they were lucky not to have advanced to Addis because Tegaru/TDF were engaged in thievery and stealing property and had no unity of purpose. When you’re trying to be unusually frank and spill all the beans/secrets, his revealing words also betray him showing the rock bottom confidence TPLF finds itself over-compensating by telling the thievery of TDF. Over-telling is always a sign of absence of confidence.

This also is the way he’s trying to shift blame on Tegaru and TDF showing (1) strain between TDF and TPLF and (2) the way he’s trying to convince MU “intellectuals” that their defeat and the political bankruptcy is caused by the undisciplined and thief Tegaru/TDF and not TPLF.

That in turn also tells yet another story - that since TDF and Tegaru are thives, Gech and TPLF would have to be forever to abandon the military alternative since the followers are not disciplined.

This is why they say - “leave them to their own vices”. Maybe the Tegarus of ER Trojan Orous and misrak chora would enlighten us more?
