One of the most painful and historic blunder committed against Ethiopia has been the loss of its historical right to the Red Sea which rendered it to be the most populated land locked nation on Earth.
Ethiopia was intentionally denied access to the Red Sea as a strategic penalty for resisting and defeating colonization a century ago and to further siege and control it so that it could be an easy prey for their future colonial ambitions, as it happened during the 2nd invasion of Ethiopia by Italy in 1935/36. After the occupation of Ethiopia by Italy in 1936, Ethiopia was integrated to the two East Africa Italy colonies, Eritrea and Somalia, under the name of "Italian East Africa"( pls refer to the link below) . The Italian East Africa which was centered at Adidas Ababa had access to the Red Sea both from Eritrea and Somalia side and had perhaps one of the longest coastline in Africa. Based on the African union standing principle to retain colonial boundaries after independence, Ethiopia could had claimed both Eretria and Somalia to be part of Ethiopia. That may be the reason why Emperor Haile Selassie succeeded to join Eritrea with Ethiopia through federation and to integrate a large part of Somalia with Ethiopia. However, when Eritrea seceded from Ethiopia during 1991/94, the then government failed to negotiate with Isaias to secure a coastal area for the Red Sea Access and Ethiopia become once again land locked back to the time where the colonial powers intentionally land locked it, as discussed above.

Isaias's invasion of Tigray/Ethiopia and occupying large part of Tigray with the objective of changing the boundary by force has made the Algiers Agreement and any colonial agreement null and void. Therefore, as part of reversing the war of aggression by Isaias, Ethiopia could reoccupy part of the coastline of Eritrea and negotiate with post-Isaias Eritrea for securing access to the Red Sea. My recommendation is for Ethiopia to occupy the strip of land from Assab port to the historic Axumite port of Adulis.

I invite every Ethiopian that reads this post to join me in the # Bring Back our Access to the Red Sea" campaign and spread the message.

Ascari it is very clear that you do not want Ethiopians to focus on some thing very important and you want us to kill each other and be weak! I advise you not to underestimate my campaign as the reaction of Ethiopians will surprise you. Get ready to hand over the strip of land from Assab to the historic Axumite port of Adulis. ኽቊነና፥መጽዬን፥ተላፅዬን፥ከዳ።

Ascari if your self sieged barren land could survive, Tigray could survive even with out external help, if you did not loot it to feed your half starved rag tag soldiers.! You also know that there are formal and informal ways of importing food. The focus from now for Ethiopians should be on the most important strategic move i.e "Securing access to the Red Sea".
