Abiy is already addicted to endless war and bloodshed to keep his power at any cost !!

(1) How Mengistu Hailemariam was addicted to a civil war that he was never able to win
Mengistu Hailemariam started his fight with EPRP in the cities and with EDU in Gondar , Humera and Welkait , he also fought with Somalia and pushed them out of Ethiopia. After he'd defeated Somalia,
he declared " የምስራቁ፥ ድል፥በሰሜኑ፥ይደገማል፤" and went to Eritrea and Tigray to destroy ELF, EPLF and TPLF.
The war propaganda in the North Ethiopia was only focusing on ELF and EPLF and there was no mention of TPLF for so many years , even though the war in Tigray was incrementally growing and intensifying from time to time. Then came the "ቀይ፥ኮከብ፥ዘመቻ፥ which was launched under the direct leadership of Mengistu to destroy EPLF with the slogan of "ላአንዴና፥ለመጨረሻ፥፥ጊዜ፥ለመደምሰስ". but EPLF and TPLF jointly foiled it and Mengistu was humiliated never to recover again, even though he never stopped launching battle campaign after campaign until he was forced out of Ethiopia as the TPLF/EPRDF army was closing to Addis Ababa.
(2) How Abiy is following the war addiction legacy of Mengistu Hailemariam and is already in quagmire he may not be able to come out
Abiy started his 1st battle experience in Somalia , followed in Welega and after that in Benshangul. His 1st battle gamble success in Somalia encouraged him to wage battle after battle until finally conspired with Isaias to invade Tigray. He promised the Tigray battle to be swift and declared victory after one month while the war was going on hidden, Abiy and his generals were declaring TPLF was already destroyed and they were just rounding and arresting the remnants of TPLF. However, as the war was getting more fierce, Abiy suddenly declared that fighting was going on at eight fronts in the begining of April 2021 and the rest is history. So far Abiy has launched a number offensives claiming this one is " the final war on OLA( Shene) and TDF " (similar to Mengistu) but all offensives we're foiled so far. Recently he has launched fresh campaign on OLA to clear them within one month and same is expected on TPLF/TDF and Fano soon. Abiy is taking the country to full blown civil war and it's future is at stake. Let us hope Abiy will finally admit his mistakes and announce his resignation same as Hailemariam Desalgne did and call for the establishment of a transition government to save the country before it is too late. If not millions of Ethiopians could die and the country disintegrated never to recover again!
