It is no secret that Meles’s astute and witty mind had elevated the Tigrawayi brand to a sexy and appealing luster. He was everywhere in the world and impressed foreigners who were not used to an African with his own mind and who could speak what they speak very convincingly.

Now enter the world of Tigrawayi under the shoddy leadership of Debretsion, Getachew Redda and General Raya Beer. And turn around to look what the life of Tigrawayi has been reduced to since 2018 and onwards.

So is this question gross or inappropriate?

Abiy has definitely cut Tegaru to size and this was meticulously done because Abiy has the vantage point of TPLF from both the inside and outside. Truly speaking, TPLF was defeated in 2018 but it fell for Abiy’s and Isayas’s trap who wanted to do more damage to it and TPLF gambled on all that it accumulated for 30 years and lost all.

Now I hear some in Addis/overseas are scrambling for EFFORT loot and those assigned to launder money overseas and running businesses in their own names are pushing back those trapped in Mekelle. The money built by Meles is scattered up for grabs (Shamo). Sialq ayamir allu!

Aye ye’Meles lifat. TPLF is left for those who think with only muscles.

All that was built as a brand is squandered and the era of self-shingella, swagger and invincibility is replaced by deflated ego and down to earth/face to face confrontation with reality.

Misraq, Tiago, Noble Amhara, AbyssiniaLady and other Tegaru have better idea on this question if they’re honest. (We know their dishonesty and duplicity of heart are infinite like an onion’s layers. They act as if they’re not Tegaru and they want to emulate the Amhara.)

That said - honesty is still needed even if in short supply -
(1) now that Tigrian kids and girls are internationally shamed for being prostitutes;
(2) Tegaru being the easiest subjects to rule by TPLF tyrants (drinking TPLF propaganda telling them you’re the greatest people just trust me); and
(3) the wanton sacrifice of all those kids for a war of choice with no clear goal -
does a life of Tegaru worth the same these days? Onlookers are saying “h3ll no!” All you’ve to do is say “Thanks to TPLF!”

Can anyone imagine this mayhem and carnage of Tegaru is Meles was alive . Most people say TPLF would not have been banished to Mekelle in the first place of Meles was here.

But the bigger questions is no matter how much it’s said that “the masses are those who change the course of history”, arguably, it’s equally true that leaders clearly define the destination and tactfully and strategically lead people through the unfamiliar path.

If Meles was banished to Mekelle, he’d save as much economic and financial advantages of EFFORT and Tegaru interests and remain “lying low” waiting for political winds to change maybe after 5 years or 10 years… Abiy would have harmed TPLF even if Meles was there. But not this bad! Abiy would do whatever he does but he wouldn’t have broken apart TPLF interest. That was how you think in this modern and globalized world. You don’t bring war as an option - because after losing a lot, you’ll regain more with patience and tact. But with war, you’d lose everything even if you “win”.

Meles (love him or loath him) was blessed with that. Meles was voted against going to war over Badme by TPLF old school debtera and hagereseb leaders who think with muscles. But see the end result and Meles was vindicated (only after 120,000 people were sacrificed).

It’s sad when a great hizb is left to the mercy of Getachew and Debreporno.
