The root of the problem is the Amara domination of Ethiopia

Menelik used the amara to conquer Oromo. Haile Selassie used the amara against Tigray and Eritrea. Of course, the amara elites have benefitted from their domination of Ethiopia as they were policy makers and were using all opportunities to benefit themselves. Under Haile Selassie , there were only one minister from Tigray. Under Mengistu , there were Oromos leading but promoting amara domination of Ethiopia. Under TPLF-EPRDF, the amara still dominated the cultural life of Ethiopia and by extension the political/spiritual life. Non-Amara stopping going to The Orthodox Church because it was dominated by amara. Eritreans were adding fuel to the fire. They were opposing the amara domination but later used the Amara against Ethiopia.
The future of Ethiopia depends on how we give space and opportunity to alll Ethiopians. Otherwise the war will continue and the formation of independent countries will be next. The Somali Regional State would want to use the oil revenues for itself to build dams and other infrastructure. It might go independent. Oromo , Afar and Tigray may also go independent. This is what Egypt and Sudan plan. But what can non-amhara people of Ethiopia do if there is no government that protects them and their property?
