In the infamous Council of Boru Meda, Emperor Yohannes (formerly Kassa Mercha, a ruler from Tigray) forced Mohammed Ali and Muslims holding office in Wollo to convert to Christianity within three months or renounce their positions. "Having concluded that Wollo was worth a mass," Marcus claims, "Mohammad Ali led his people to Christianity." Nevertheless, while some of the leaders of Wollo converted to Christianity, the vast majority of the Muslim populace of Wollo refused to convert. As a consequence, Atse Yohanne massacred thousands of Wollo Muslims at Boru Meda for refusing to convert to Christianity. Mohammed Ali was baptized with the name "Mikael" and became a Ras (equivalent to "Duke"). Many Muslims from Wollo left for sanctuary in Metemma, Jimma, and Harar.[1]

Now you know who you are, just in case you have forgotten.

Wodaje Zilmaknun,

You bring a King's crime to cover up another King's crime, funny.

Yes, you right Bezbez Kassa killed thirty thousand Woloyes for not accepting Christianity. In the end, the Muslim Dervishes punished him by chopping his head. Case closed.

The good thing is, hundred years later, his grandchildren came up with a progressive idea to rule by rendering religious and ethnic equality to the Ethiopian nation even though not a success story as it was intended. But, It was a good try on their part for healing and for forgiveness.

Now, this thread is about emiye Menilik and the untold story of his emeyenet.

As per historical records, nearly half or over half of the foot soldiers who went to Adwa were Muslims. After the battle, Ethio Christians and even the invader Italians dead had a proper burial whereas tens of thousands of Ethio Muslims were left unburied to be eaten by crows and hyenas. What do you say about this buddy?
