On the occasion of International Women’s Day we commemorate the brave Eritrean women who have been jailed for peacefully expressing their views, belonging to “illegal” religions, or simply for being the 15-year old daughter of a government official who publicly dissented.
There are, unfortunately, too many female prisoners of conscience in Eritrea to list them all. We remember the following mothers, sisters, and daughters as representatives of all the Eritrean women who have been jailed:
Aster Yohannes. Aster Fissehatsion. Miriam Hagos. Senait Debessay. Faiza Seid. Ciham Ali.
We have not forgotten your names. We will not forget your names.
We urge the Eritrean government, in recognition of International Women’s Day, to release all female political prisoners currently incarcerated in Eritrea.
The United States stands with the Eritrean people.

Providing such text is the work of the American Embassy in Asmara, it's clear that it's the West that's giving Eritrea the middle finger, rather than the other way round as our Eritrean friends like to claim.

Wedi tigray,

We do know your crocodile tears which you are shedding for eritreans is politically motivated. You elite ugums (excluding the poor peasant ugums) wish the worst for eritreans.

To make you happy lol.

We have one single opposition group inside eritrea who is "allowed" to defend us eris, namely the US ambassador in eritrea. We are proud of him. He is doing better job than the so-called YIAKIL movements with their bla bla diatribe.

Thanks ato US ambassador.... what was his name?

I don't think there's a US Ambassador in Eritrea but a Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Asmara. His name is Steven C. Walker and his title in Asmara is Chief of Mission U.S. Embassy Asmara.
