Emperor Menelik Ii planned and executed the war by travelling to Adwa from Addis Abeba in 1896.
Menelik II was a world leader. On his time, he was very far sighted.

That is true. The Italians were already in Alaje and Ashenge in 1896 Menelik of Shoa with his Neftegnas (50,000) and Feresegnas (50,000) overpowered the italians pushing them north to mekele aksum then adwa
