I have told him that it is none of Agame's business. The Government of Eritrea is doing its best to address the needs of all Eritreans based on the principles of self-reliance & equitable distribution of resources. Eritrea is a self-reliant country that was able to feed its people.

Eritrea has to play the long game and should always think long-term. It should have principled positions on a large number of issues, take positions that are compatible with the Eritrean national character and Eritrea's long-term interest

Principled things that Eritrea did that have been beneficial to our people
1. Total rejection of any form of terrorist act, be it today or during the armed struggle period
- Eritrea never attacked civilian targets even when the Dergue was carpet bombing Massawa with napalm and woyane terrorising Eritrean civilians

2. Not allowing foreign multinationals to run away with the economy and run havoc on Eritrean livelihood
- the 60% Eritrean (taxes included) and 40% foreign ownership model of investment in the Eritrean mining sector is such a good example

3. Not allowing foreign NGOs to operate in Eritrea and run havoc with Eritrean dignity
- kicking out USAID, Oxfam and others is such a good example

4. Not allowing foreign peace keepers to live longer than few moths in the country and run havoc with the dignity of our youth
- the highly principled kicking out of the UNMEE was such a highly appreciated gesture

Principled things that Eritrea needs to do at all times
- defend the rights of small nations against any kind of aggression
- the recent vote at the UN is not compatible with that

Things Isaias needs to stop saying
- coming on TV once a year to disparage our economy ("our companies look like "enda hidirtna"; "we have no economy to talk abut", "Massawa looks like a ghost town now", and such silly things. We've heard this before from Ethiopianists like Kassa Kebede, Dawit Woldegiorgis and other Ethiopian officials who try to argue that Eritrea does not have an economy that can support independence. We don't need to hear this from Isaias on his once a year public address
- that we are one people, one culture or one anything with anybody in our neighborhood
- that economic integration is of any important to us
