A Watershed Moment of modern history

Post by DefendTheTruth » 27 Feb 2022, 11:05

In its over 75 or so years of post WWII era Germany was known for its pacificism when it comes to conflict resolution strategy and its post war history is specifically known for restraining itself from involvment in an open war, be it over seas or domestically.

That has all now changed over night and that nation has decided to actively participate in the Ukrainian war with Russia and decided to send in over 1000 anti tank weapons and about 500 Missiles in direct support of Ukraine, against which Russia has declared war claiming, among others, to root out Neonazis that took a foothold in the current government of the former country. This is in direct support of the Ukrainian army, in addition to Germany's involvement and contribution to NATO as well, both materially and military personnel.

In reaction we were also told just today that Russia has ordered the readiness of its nuclear power (moving to a status of "special alert", whatever this may mean), according to the news in response to NATO's "aggression".

All in all we are witnessing a watershed moment of modern day military engagement, both in scale and strategy of waging war, unfolding in front of our own eyes. Ukraine is currently only the battlefield.

Let Peace Reign In The world.

Before sending the above "lethal aids" to Ukraine in support of the latter's war effort the current Chancellor of that nation with in disagreement with the US, when the latter tried to sanction Russia by cutting the so called NordStream gas flow pipeline.
Relationship with the United States

Scholz meets with US President Joe Biden at the White House, 7 February 2022
In December 2019, Scholz criticized the US legislation imposing sanctions on Russia's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to Germany, saying: "Such sanctions are a serious interference in the internal affairs of Germany and Europe and their sovereignty."[119]
