Before they stole Welkait and incorporated it into their agameland, the only Agames residing there were destitute migrant workers. The locals despised them and it was common to hear whenever one of the unfortunate wretches died "ትግራዋይ ድዩ ሞይቱ ወይ ሰብ" 'ትግራዋይ ነው የሞተው ወይ ሰው":: Agames took their revenge the last 30 years on the people of Welkait. But things have gone back to their original status with Agame squatters either fleeing to the Sudan or their scraggy agameland. Agames, of course, feel no shame and now have the audacity to claim that Humera and Welkait are theirs.
