Life in Tigray is becoming increasingly unbearable. Hopefully there will be soon some peaceful agreement so that people get some relief.

NORTHERN ETHIOPIA - HUMANITARIAN UPDATE
Situation Report
Last updated: 10 Feb 2022

HIGHLIGHTS (1 day ago)
Humanitarian operations in Tigray are largely reduced or suspended due to lack of fuel, cash and supplies.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE (1 day ago)
Humanitarian Preparedness and Response

The humanitarian response operations in northern Ethiopia remain restricted by several factors, including insecurity and bureaucratic impediments such as the inability to bring sufficient supplies, fuel, and cash to Tigray, the high number of people in need, limited access to people in hard-to-reach areas due to insecurity, and limited presence of partners on the ground, especially in Afar.

In Tigray, humanitarian partners are forced to either suspend some response activities or significantly reduce their operations as fuel and supplies stock, including therapeutic nutrition supplies to treat severe acute malnutrition (SAM) among young children, are completely depleted or almost entirely exhausted.

The levels of malnutrition among children and pregnant and lactating women (PLW) continue to increase and remain alarmingly high among those screened during the week. The screening activities for malnutrition has also significantly reduced during the week due to lack of fuel. About 1,100 children under five were screened for malnutrition during the reporting period compared to more than 4,300 children in the previous week and more than 33,000 two weeks earlier. Out of those screened, 436 children or more than 38 per cent per cent identified with global acute malnutrition (GAM) and 73 children or 6.4 per cent were identified with SAM. In addition, 282 pregnant and lactating women (PLW) were screened where 268 of them or 95 per cent were diagnosed with malnutrition.

Edu junta
When you provoked the Federal government for war and massacred its forces, did you expect a reward? There is this thing called “consequences”. Your low IQ leaders and their low IQ society thought it would be a cake walk once the war broke out, but here you are sent to 18th century just in one year. No sympathy at all, in fact, the fed and the rest of Ethiopian forces should make life as hell for you all until you handover all the criminals.

Indeed we do remember! (Courtesy of Wikileaks)

" (SBU) Seyoum opened by arguing that the involvement of Eritrea, Qatar, Iran, al-Qaeda, foreign fighters, and other non-Somali entities in Somalia had pushed the Somalia conflict into becoming an international crisis that the UN Security Council should not ignore. He urged the UNSC members to take the action endorsed by IGAD on May 20 that
called for sanctions against Eritrea and the imposition of a no-fly zone and naval blockade over non-TFG controlled parts of Somalia
. IGAD, he said, planned to draw up a list of individuals and entities known to be supporting the extremists in Somalia to be presented to the UN for
sanctions. He highlighted the role of Canada, Qatar, Iran in the conflict. Canada, he said, through its concessions, would soon be providing Eritrea with hundreds of millions of dollars, and he commented that "if you think Eritrea is a problem now with no economy, wait until it is flush with cash." Qatar and Iran were hiding behind Eritrea to provide support to the extremists, he insisted. Seyoum asserted that a failure to act now would impact the peace and security of the entire region, and allow the situation to "get completely out of hand."
