National dialogue is a good start but sadly we don't have the necessary elites that are up to the task

I really doubt that it will help us resolve our deep seated divisions and conflicts at this stage even if all stakeholders take part, which doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. I don't think our egocentric and narrow ethno-nationalist elites are in the position to even understand the complexity of our problems let alone to solve them. National dialogue is a good start though and I hope the next generation of sane minded and wise elites will learn from it and use its own national dialogue to resolve the old divisions and conflicts.

For now, we are not lucky as we don't have capable and wise elites that can act as "founding fathers" of the new Ethiopia, who transcend boundaries by trying to understand the other side and come up with a fair and robust solution that can function as a bases for the next hundreds of years. Sad but we just don't have the required elites who are up to the task for now and as such the fruits of a national dialogue now will most likely remain limited.
