Why is sarcasm busy about searching news and flooded us making frequent post of the deceased Patriarch? You are making his death political. As far as I know the only place that house faith and politics together is Ethiopia. Each deceased or alive patriarchs, but they are all political appointees instead of being fatherhood. And as far as keeping religion pure and intact from foreign cult infiltration is concerned, Eritrea is a role model in Africa and the rest of the world. You can bad mouth or alleged the politics of that country, but when it comes to religion the government is safeguarding and keeping it pure. The oldest faith of the country, Orthodox Christianity is pure and intact there. I wish Ethiopians consider the Eritrean Patriarch as their Patriarch. Sorry, I can tell you one example one of my relatives happened to meet the ex-Abune Paulos in a church. You know what he did, my relative refused to kiss Abune Paulo's cross - he considered it as a curse not a blessing and he did not want to be desecrated, considered the Patriarch unholy. That is how much the Ethiopian Orthodox is becoming @ss hole political.

Are you out of your mind? You want to take a country that jailed a patriarch for 15 years without his day in court as a role model in the world? How many patriarchs have died in prison in the world? Do you want 280 patriarchs / popes / muftis to die in prison? Then what? The world will be peaceful?!

If you asking releasing Sibhat Nega is more shocking and criminal than patriarchs died at his home. The government of Eritrea does't care less about the love of the people toward the government but the government makes sure they are respected and feared and that is called governing. Look what Abiy is doing, he is killing the nation with his bone-less moves.

Well, TPLF too arrested the Patriarch during the dreg era and later escaped flee for a refugee. After almost 27 years of exile returned home. I don't know which one now is the Patriarch. Ethiopian Orthodox church is destroyed to its soul. However, the result speaks for itself - Eritrea preserved the true identity of Orthodox church, whereas Ethiopia Orthodox church lost its character and spiritual force - now it is gambling with Pente-Qoste, Islamists, Irrecha Wuqabes, etc. It is not acceptable to talk about democracy when one is suspected of torpedoing the core of the faith of a given country. Religion is the ultimate true restraints of immoral, illegal and dangerous behavior of citizens. Religion is the engine and brake of human behavior. If you don't have faith, I don't trust you.

--- ZEMEN,

The Orommuma guy, Abiy Ahmed, released Sebhat Nega, because his god  told him in his schizophrenic revelation he had to release Sebhat Nega and set him free. The Orommumma god was displeased to see Sebhat in prison. That is the level of religious decay in Ethiopia. Evil or Satan is dancing off its arse naked in Ethiopia - from the church to the palace - which once upon a time were sacred places. You tell me what kind of God releases Sebhat Nega.

Abere and Zemen,
Never mind what, Sarcasm, the Agame, is blubbering. First of all the late Patriarch was never under any form of "house arrest". Just because the US-led enemies of Eritrea said so, it does not make him a "Victim" of house arrest,
The issue was strictly handled by the Eritrean Orthodox Holy Synododos. PERIOD. The Eritrean government had no say on it and never interfered in the affairs of the Church. His Holiness was messing around with the Eritrean faithful by attempting to introduce foreign elements to the teaching of the Holy Bible in the form of "Modernization", a trademark of Pentecostal and other alien "New" religions, which is completely unacceptable to the Eritrean culture and way of life.
