The only thing that would distress Isaias is the West putting more pressure on him, demonising, and isolating him, but even that would not distress him a lot, as he's used it.

Abiy Ahmed is a political novice compared to Isaias Afwerki, who even knows Ethiopian politics better than Ethiopians, as not only did he counter Ethiopian politics for decades, but also, he has been observing it tantamount from Eritrea. Therefore, there's no way Abiy Ahmed is capable to outplay Isaias.

Comparing incomparable - Isaias Afework is a matured and stable leader ( an he is brutally hones) whereas Abiy Ahmed is a clown, immature, unsophisticated ( dishonest even to himself, every other day). Isaias Afework has clear vision, focus and measured outcome ( he is thinking of the soul of a country), Abiy Ahmed is thinking of his power only and perhaps parroting Orommumma, he has no vision. As an Ethiopian I would have praised Abiy Ahmed has he done some of the simple basic stuffs that takes care of the soul of Ethiopia as a country.

I bet my last penny Isayes has never been happier in his life as -except maybe the day Eritrea has become an independent country — is now. He knows what is going to unfold better than anyone in the region.

Without doubt Isaias is happy, but the happiness and laughter of our clown, aka Abiy, might not last long.

Isaias Afwerki's fifty years of political experience is a neighborhood political experience,
Abiy Ahmed is young and a fast learner.

Isaias Afwerki's political ideology and political theory revolves around Tigray and Tigrinya speakers, He can't get out of isolation because he doesn't have any understanding of politics, he is a neighborhood thug rather than a politician.

There is no comparison between Isaias Afwerki and Abiy Ahmed.

My earlier view was limited to Isaias's role and influence in Ethiopia and whether he was in distress in this respect. But when it comes to politics, his political experience is without doubt limited to what AbyssiniaLady has termed "neighbourhood politics", as his whole political experience revolves only around Ethiopia and doesn't go beyond. He's not even known across Africa despite all those years in power, and Eritrea wouldn't have been in isolation for this long.

Yes, statesmanship is a popularity contest, just like high school kids. And Issayas is unkown beyond Africa.....The isolation was just Agames imposing their will on Eritrea, never been Americans desire to subdue him. Did I say Americans? My bad!!! He's not known beyond Africa......

it is unbelievable to watch Isaias Afeworki who is the most oldest politician who have fought the whole of his life is tricked and thrown to the dust by Amateurish Abiy Ahmed.

My fear is that America may plan to use Abiy and TPLF to overthrow Isaias Afewrki which will could definitely bring further destruction in Eritrea.
